Albion revitalised their promotion bid as goals from Scott Chaplain and John Gemmell gave them a 2-0 win over Elgin.
Chaplain handed the hosts an early lead when he slotted home a left-foot shot from Gemmell's knockdown.
The visitors had to wait until the hour-mark to test Derek Gaston when Craig Frizzel's curling effort was tipped wide by the Albion keeper.
The home side grabbed a second goal with nine minutes left when Gemmell lashed home from just inside the box.
Elgin were handed a lifeline when Alan Reid was adjudged to have fouled Neil MacDonald in the area a minute later, but Jason Crooks' spot-kick was saved by Gaston as Albion secured a first win in five to move to within a point of leaders Arbroath.
