Third-placed Albion eased to a 3-0 win against table-topping Arbroath at Cliftonhill.
Rovers, looking to close the gap to just three points, got their breakthrough as early as the third minute.
Albion`s Robert Love was fouled in the box by Darryl Burns and Scott Chaplain made no mistake with the penalty.
In the 18th minute, Albion`s Scott Chaplain headed over a free-kick from six yards.
Albion forced a sequence of corners, and in the 37th minute found Alan Benton six yards out and he headed home to double Albion`s lead.
Three minutes later, an Albion free-kick found Love in the centre of the area and he finished neatly from 18 yards to seal the points.
