Peterhead clung on to their 100 per cent league record this season after a hard- fought victory over Albion Rovers at Clifton Hill.
After a scrappy opening spell with neither side able to take control, it was the Blue Toon who created the first real chance.
A defensive error by Jordan Smith after 22 minutes let in an impressive Martin Bavidge, who brought an excellent save from in-form Rovers keeper Chris Fahey.
The Rovers keeper was called upon a few minutes later to turn a Scott Michie shot over the bar after an excellent through ball by Craig Tully.
With 35 minutes on the clock, the Blue Toon got their reward when a Keith Gibson scuffed shot found Scott Robertson, who slotted the ball home from inside the six- yard box.
This sparked Rovers into life with a Jed Stirling free-kick going just over the bar before a John Bradford shot went just past the post.
Peterhead had some excellent chances to kill the game off early in the second half , but yet again Fahey foiled Bavidge on both occasions.
Then on 65 minutes Michie also had an excellent chance after a neat Bavidge flick put him through, but Jamie McGowan made a vital last -ditch tackle.
Rovers pressed late on to equalise with skipper Jim Mercer having the best chance with a header just past the post from a Stirling corner.
However, Peterhead held on for a vital but well -deserved three points.
