Albion Rovers 1 East Stirlingshire 1
A basement battle between Albion and East Stirling produced a point apiece for either side as new Rovers manager Jimmy Lindsay took his unbeaten run to three games.
Rovers controlled much of the first half with new striker Lee Wilson having the best of any opportunities early on, but he was foiled on both occasions by Derek Jackson in the Shire goal.
It was Shire, though, who could have taken the lead going into half-time when a Greig Denham header was superbly saved by Chris Fahey in the Rovers goal after a corner by trialist Chris McGroarty.
However, Shire did take the lead early in the second half when striker Ross Donaldson played in Steve Oates to fire the ball home.
Their lead didn't last long as two minutes later a youthful Albion Rovers side got back on level terms as substitute Marc McKenzie squared the ball to John Bradford, who powered a drive home.
Both sides went in search of victory late on with Rovers' best chance coming through McKenzie. After some good work down the right, the little winger cut inside and unleased a powerful shot which was turned over by Jackson.
Then Donaldson almost gave Shire the points minutes later but his shot went agonisingly wide.
Both sides will be relatively happy with a point, and on the balance of the game it was probably the correct result.
