Grehan treble puts Alloa on song

Alloa recorded their biggest victory of the season as they thrashed Albion 5-1, with Martin Grehan netting a hat-trick.

The striker doubled his league tally in one afternoon as Alloa pulled the visitors apart.

Grehan opened the scoring in the 20th minute with a thunderous finish into the top corner from just inside the area.

Simon Marriott headed into his own net three minutes before the break to double Alloa's lead.

Albion pulled a goal back in the 48th minute as David Crawford lashed the ball home from inside the box, but Alloa restored the two-goal cushion nine minutes later as Grehan grabbed his second with a left-footed drive from 12 yards.

Grehan secured his hat-trick with a simple finish from the centre of the area, before Mitchel Megginson netted the fifth with a low effort from the edge of the penalty box.
