Queens Park 3 Albion Rovers 1
Despite a lack-lustre first half display, Queens Park ran out deserving winners thanks to a much-improved second half performance.
The visitors started the better of the two sides and created an excellent opportunity to open the scoring inside the first 10 minutes. Scott Friel crossed from the left and Ian Chisholm slid in at the back post, but he hit his effort straight at Queens Park keeper David Crawford.
Rovers'early dominance paid off when they broke the deadlock after 18 minutes. Former Queens Park midfielder Martin Bonar headed home at the back post from Lee Wilson's left-wing cross.
The Spiders edged their way back into the game, and Rovers keeper Jamie Ewings pulled off a fantastic fingertip save to keep out a powerful header from Mark Ferry.
The home side started the second half in style with two goals in the opening four minutes. The equaliser came within a minute as Ferry was on hand to knock home at the back post from Stuart Kettlewell's low cross.
Ferry's second goal four minutes later saw Queens Park take the lead as the midfielder fired home from Paul Harvey's corner kick.
Neither side created any real chances until the dying seconds of the match when second half substitute Bryan Felvus found space in the box to smash the ball home, making sure of all three points in the process.
