A John-Paul McBride strike two minutes into stoppage time gave Stenhousemuir a share of the spoils that they scarcely deserved against Albion Rovers.

The Coatbridge side were the more threatening throughout the game and took the lead within a minute of the start of the second half when Lee Wilson headed home a Jim Mercer flick on from a Marc McKenzie cross.

The home side struggled to get back into the game with Rovers showing a greater desire as they sought out their seventh away match without defeat.

McKenzie and Wilson caused all sorts of problems for the home defence and with keeper James Kirkham giving a very nervous performance in his first start for Stenhousemuir it looked as if the Rovers would extend their lead.

Somehow they failed to get the all-important second goal and they were to suffer the consequences when McBride volleyed the ball into the net in what was Stenhousemuir's first shot on target in the entire game.

Despite only seconds remaining after the equaliser Rovers almost snatched the game from the kick-off when a Jed Stirling shot from just inside his own half of the pitch caught out Kirkham, who was grateful to see the ball flick off the crossbar and go over instead of becoming the goal of the season.
